As a GP, I am deeply committed to leveraging my extensive knowledge and experience to enhance patient health outcomes. My focus is on actively listening to our patients and ensuring they have a positive and supportive experience when they visit our centre. Creating an environment where patients feel heard and valued is essential to providing exceptional care.
Central to achieving our vision of becoming an extraordinary medical centre is the hiring of staff who share this dedication to high-quality care. It is crucial to assemble a team that not only possesses the skills and expertise but also aligns with our commitment to excellence. With the right team in place, we will foster a culture of excellence that benefits both our patients and our practice.
Our goal is to continuously improve and adapt our services to meet the evolving needs of our patients. By remaining focused on this mission, we ensure that we stay responsive to changes in healthcare and patient expectations. Regularly evaluating and enhancing our services will help us maintain high standards of care and provide a superior patient experience.
In summary, my role as a GP extends beyond individual patient interactions. It involves contributing to a broader vision of excellence within our medical centre. By prioritising patient-centred care, building a dedicated team, and striving for continuous improvement, we will create a healthcare environment that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our patients, ultimately achieving our goal of becoming a leading medical centre in the area.

Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Level 8) University of Auckland - 2015
Bachelor of Nursing (Level 7) Waikato Institute of Technology Ltd - 2012
Reflecting on my 12-year Nursing career, I've realized that my most valuable lessons have come from beyond the classroom, emergency ward, and general practice clinics. Life skills have significantly shaped both my personal and professional development.
True learning extends beyond diplomas, certificates, or master's degrees. It’s about applying that knowledge in meaningful ways. If we don't use our growth to help and support others, we miss the opportunity to foster a culture of shared excellence and ethical work practices.
My journey in nursing has taught me that the real essence of professional growth lies in our ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical support for those we serve. This approach not only enhances our skills but also creates a ripple effect, promoting better work ethics and collaborative development within our teams.
As I continue my career, my focus remains on utilizing my experiences to mentor and guide others, ensuring that the pathways we create together lead to improved patient care and professional fulfillment. By embracing continuous learning and compassionate care, we can collectively elevate the standards of our profession and make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities.
Grace Baxter
Registered Nurse
Born and raised in the Hutt Valley, my career journey has been anything but conventional. Unsure of my path early on, I spent six adventurous years traveling overseas, with South Yorkshire, England, serving as my home base. During this time, I pursued studies in animal care, earning a National Diploma in Animal Care, which led to a rewarding role as a vet nurse.
Despite the incredible experiences abroad, homesickness brought me back to New Zealand seven years ago. My return marked the beginning of a new chapter as I joined Mash Trust as a community support worker. It was there that I discovered my passion for caring for others, inspiring me to pursue a career in nursing.
I studied at UCOL in Palmerston North and proudly graduated in December 2022. As the only graduate from my class to transition directly into primary care, I’ve embraced this fulfilling path wholeheartedly. Now, as a Practice Nurse at Levin Family Health, I am privileged to be part of a supportive, compassionate, and dedicated team.
I am excited to contribute to the well-being of this wonderful community, where I already feel at home. My goal is to become an integral part of the Levin Family Health family – perhaps even part of the furniture!
